Maintenance Guide for Chain Grate: The Key to Ensuring Stable Boiler Operation

In industrial production, chain grates are the core components of boilers, and their stable operation is related to boiler efficiency and production continuity. Effective maintenance can ensure its performance, extend its life, and reduce failures. Henan Hanyu Boiler Co., Ltd. (https://www.hanyuboiler.com/) is a star enterprise in the boiler industry. It produces various types of boilers, some of which involve chain grates, such as DHL angle tube chain grate boilers, SZL chain grate boilers, etc. The following are the maintenance points of chain grates.

Ⅰ. Daily monitoring and inspection
1. Rotation and lubrication: Pay attention to the lubrication and cooling of rotating parts such as coal throwers, regularly add lubricating oil to bearings, and ensure that the gearbox oil level is at 1/2 of the oil level gauge and the oil is clean.
2. Cooling system: Pay attention to the circulation of cooling water and drainage temperature.
3. Ash cleaning: When there is no automatic ash discharge device, regularly clean the coal and ash from the sub-section wind chamber, ash hopper and ash hopper under the grate, and pour water on the ash hopper to extinguish the remaining fire.

Ⅱ. Grate operation and maintenance
1. Fault handling: When the grate stops, immediately check and eliminate the fault. If it cannot be solved during operation, stop the furnace for maintenance.
2. Grate plate inspection: When conditions permit, let the grate rotate once a shift for inspection, replace the broken grate plates in time, remove the coke, and it is strictly forbidden to knock the grate with a fire poker.
3. Prevent overheating: Avoid overheating of the grate plates, etc. When overheating, strengthen air supply cooling, and it is strictly forbidden to pour cold water. Keep a small amount of ventilation at the back of the grate.
4. Speed change and air supply: Shift gears smoothly, listen to the sound of the gearbox, and check if there is any abnormality. When the grate is stopped for a short time and steam supply is required, speed up the grate in advance, thicken the coal layer, and do not interrupt the air supply during the stop.

 III. Cleaning and maintenance
1. Keep clean: Ensure that the transmission body and operating lever are clean, tools are placed in designated positions, and there is no debris on the operating layer.
2. Regular inspection: Check whether the eagle iron, coal gate, grate plate, air door, etc. are normal.
3. Maintain transmission: Ensure that the oil circuit of the transmission part is unobstructed, the bearings are well lubricated, and the temperature does not exceed 60-70℃.

IV. Combustion adjustment monitoring
1. Adjust the coal layer: Adjust according to the boiler load and coal type, 60-120 mm for cohesive bituminous coal, 80-140 mm for non-cohesive bituminous coal, and 100-160 mm for anthracite and lean coal.
2. Adjust working conditions: Adjust the combustion working conditions according to the load, including coal layer, grate speed, coal thrower speed, air volume, etc., to stabilize steam pressure and steam temperature.
3. Monitoring coking: Monitor by watching the fire door, remove the coke slag from the slag box at least once per shift, and remove the coke on the furnace wall and grate in time.

V. Shutdown and fire suppression operation

1. Normal shutdown: Close the gate of the coal drop pipe, send coal into the coal hopper, reduce the grate speed, reduce coal supply and air volume, and stop the secondary air.

2. Suppression operation: Reduce the supply and induced draft, raise the coal gate, when the red fire is about 2 meters away from the coal gate, close the coal hopper baffle, stop the grate, and use coal to block the coal gate tightly; stop the supply and induced draft, open the natural ventilation door to cool the grate, when the fire is close to the coal gate, start the grate and then stop and block the coal; supply water and discharge sewage after suppressing the fire, check the water level frequently during the period to prevent water shortage, fire extinguishing and re-ignition.

VI. Other maintenance

1. Equipment inspection: Strengthen the patrol inspection of boiler equipment and deal with problems in time.

2. Auxiliary equipment: Check the coal loading and slag removal equipment to ensure lubrication.
3. Furnace flue: Check for air leakage in the furnace and flue, and repair them in time.
4. Insulation layer: If the insulation layer is found to be falling off, deal with it in time.
5. Valve pump: Check the packing seals of valves, water pumps, etc., and deal with problems in time.
6. Water level pressure: Check the water level gauge and pressure gauge, perform lifting and lowering tests regularly, and repair or replace damaged accessories in time.
7. Drawer fan: Keep it clean, the bearing temperature does not exceed 40℃, the oil level is 2/3 of the height of the bearing shell, and add new oil when it is insufficient.
8. Anchor bolts: Check whether the anchor bolts are loose and deal with them in time.
9. Dust collector: Clean the accumulated dust regularly, maintain tightness, and repair leaks in time.
10. Water treatment equipment: Check the equipment, monitor the water quality, find the cause when the water quality is unqualified, replace the failed ions and prevent corrosion.

Chain grate maintenance requires strict regulations, starting from multiple links, and comprehensive maintenance to ensure its stable operation and energy supply for industrial production.
